I wanted my website to be about fashion and beauty as these are things that I am passionate about, I have a beauty routine and care about the latest fashions. I was influenced by youtube beauty and fashion bloggers, most of them post seasonal lookbooks which is why I decided to create one. I found this process very enjoyable as I enjoy filming and editing. I made sure to research other youtubers look books to see what kind of style they do and then took advantage of the good weather and filmed the 3 looks we came up with. I noticed that beauty bloggers are always in their own lookbooks showing off their personal style for example 'zoella', but I also incorporated the different style of look book which is more of a group thing like the youtube channel 'TheLineUp'. This also allowed me to film the lookbook myself as I didn't want to have someone else film it all for me although I was still directing them. I found this post the most enjoyable as I really enjoy video editing.
I found the Podcast easier than I thought it would be, for preparation, I wrote down 5 questions:
"1. What would you say are your fashion staples that every male and female needs to have in their closet?
2. How did you find your own personal style?
3. Where do you buy most of your clothes from?
4. Who are your fashion inspirations?
5. Where is your favourite place to shop?"
I sent these questions to my housemates, who I was doing the podcast with so that they could think of answers. We then went to the radio studios and recorded the podcast, I struggled with getting the sound levels right but overall I think that the sound came out okay, I do think it could have been better. In terms of the podcast itself, it went well. However sometimes we spoke over each other which was hard to fix when editing, but overall I think the conversation flowed very well as I chose to do it with my housemates who I am close friends with.
I enjoyed making the infographic timeline as I did it on the history of women fashion and how it has changed. I found it so interesting to see how women clothes slowly turned more gender neutral over the years as they started to get more rights. I found that sourcing pictures that were legal to use was very hard for example for the 90's, the description I wrote for the era was describing 90's grunge fashion, however I couldn't source a picture that I could use that showed this. Instead I had to use a picture that still showed 90's fashion but did not relate to my description. Overall the timeline went well and it was easy to embed it onto the website.
I found the web design part of it quite hard as I am really unfamiliar with coding. However from my research I found that most beauty and fashion blogs were designed quite simple and elegantly, so I decided to keep mine simple and use neutral colours like grey and blue.

COMPARING PRICES | Fashion Staples
Fashion staples are important in every persons wardrobe and for me these three items are what everyone needs; Mom Jeans, Denim Jacket, Striped Top
I compared the prices for each of these items in popular highstreet shops seen in the map below. This is Oxford street, the best place to shop in London, so if you are near and need any of those 3 wardrobe staples just click on the stars to compare the prices and make your way. You won't regret it.
